Hide and Seek

Kaylah and I 

love to play

Hide and Seek.

We pick a person

to be in

Kaylah is in first

"1, 2, 3, 4, 5..."

Oh oh

Run! Run!

Okay

I'm behind the big oak tree

I know Kaylah 

will never find me here

So I start to think

Now, tomorrow is Sunday

The next day is Monday

The day after is Tuesday

Okay! Okay!

I know this is stupid

but there is nothing

else to think

I start to think about

my toys

Okay!  Now, there's

Lora, Nora, Butlet,

Lily, Caternight, JJ,

Kitty, Lamb-Lamb, Rabie,

Pinky, Jessie, Lizzy...

"KATHY!  KATHY!"

Huh?  What? Oh no!

It's Kaylah!

She is only a few

metres away

I wait, I get bored

I start to 

think again

Tomorrow, class,

Mrs Negline,

friends, Maths,

English, Social

Studies, recess,

Art, Comupters

bus, lunch, Science,

"Kathy!

I give up!

Where are you?

You can come out now!

It's you turn to be in!"

Kaylah drones on

I still wait for her

to find me

I start to

close my eyes

and think about

a faraway land...

"BOOOO!

Kathy!  I found you!

Ha!  Ha!"

She's found me.

It's my turn

to be in

"1, 2, 3, 4, 5..."

She runs off

"6, 7, 8, 9, 10!

Ready or not

here I come!"

I start looking

for her,

The basement,

The bedroom,

The lounge room,

The backyard,

The oak tree,

The laundry,

The toilet,

The bathroom,

The pool area

Oh MY GOD!

WHERE IS

SHE?!

Wait a minute,

did I just see

Kaylah flash around

into the guest room?

I creep up slowly

And...

"BOO!"

This time it

was my turn

to scare her.
